The quake hit while we were climbing a huge set of stairs that were taking us to the top of the 500 year old Xian city walls. It felt like we were on a boat rolling on small waves, but it was over in about 3 minutes and we continued on to rent bikes and ride the 9 or so miles around the city walls. I have some pictures but the system is really slow right now and I'll uplaod them after dinner...we're seeing the Chinese opera tonight.
OK- got the picture. I took this from the top of the steps as the "shaking" was subsiding. We were all a little confused, but it really wasn't all that scary
